Fashion is something that everyone should experiment with at some point if not all of the time. There’s so much that you can learn about yourself if you’re willing to push the boat out, and you never know what you like and don’t like until you try it. Fashion can be adapted in so many ways, that it’s almost a crime that people stick to the same look for their entire life. You could try out so many things, so many combinations, it’s really up to your creativity to make those decisions – and you shouldn’t be afraid when doing it. The only thing that you risk is your money, but there are ways around that.
Take advantage of deals
Experimenting with fashion can be expensive at times, especially if you can’t make things work that you’ve already invested in. If you’re always shopping for clothes, you should be constantly looking into deals that are going on with the stores that you visit. Even if you’re just window shopping, making sure to take advantage of sales can save you a lot of money in the long run.
That’s not to say that you should buy something just because it’s on sale, but being patient and waiting around for sales is great especially when you’re not so sure about the purchase. Being risky is one thing, but you can save yourself a portion of that risk.
Seek new stores
It can be hard to push out of your comfort zone when it comes to fashion if you find yourself always looking in the same stores. If you don’t shop online, you’re going to be limited to the clothes that are sold in your stores – which is by no means a bad thing, but it’s going to be hard to find items that are an alternate style. Shopping online can not only save you time, but you can find things that you’ve never seen before and things that you might end up enjoying!
Sites like Pinterest can be great places for you to find new things to try out, especially if you use them properly. You can add certain tags to your interests, and you can look through other people’s saved pins. For example, Chip Packard’s board features items that you might be interested in. you never know what you might find, and it can work out to be a fun hobby, even if you don’t end up buying much.
Keep an open mind
If you’re trying to experiment with fashion, you’re not going to get very far if you won’t come out of your comfort zone. Keep an open mind while you’re shopping, and it can help you to imagine things in a different light than you’re used to. Imagine what it would look like on you, or when paired with other things – just because it’s not the same as the clothes that you usually wear, does that make it a bad thing? It takes confidence to try new things sometimes, and that’s something you need to learn how to give yourself.
