They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and they say that for a very good reason. Your eyes are the first thing that people notice about you. Your emotions are written into them even if you don’t believe that they are, and they are the part of your face that shows others whether you are welcoming as a person or not. The eyes say a lot about you, and so it makes sense that you would want to make sure that they simply just POP!
There is nothing wrong with spending time getting your eyes ready for the day ahead. You can take your time to dress your eyes as much as you would to dress your body, and there are plenty of ways that you can do that. Below, we’ve put together all of the tips that you would need to bring your eyes out and let people notice you first. With that in mind, let’s take a look!
- Eyebrows First. Before you wash the windows, you sort the curtains, so let’s go with the eyebrows first. Your eyebrows have the job of framing your face and bringing attention to your eyes. Filling in your eyebrows with an eyeshadow in a matching color is going to make a huge difference to the way that they look on your face. Always follow the natural arch of the brow and once you have filled them in, use a clear brown gel to set them properly. Your eyes are instantly going to stand out if your eyebrows are on point, so don’t be afraid to get them set first.
- Primer. As you would with your face, you need a primer underneath your eyeshadow. This will prevent the eyeshadow you use from wearing off or creasing off on your eyes. A primer or a base can make your eyelids as smooth as possible and the eyeshadow will remain in place all day long. This is something you want to keep going as you get older, too!
- Go Deeper. If you want to make sure that your eyes are huge, bold and beautiful, go deeper with your eyeshadow. Work on first applying a lighter eyeshadow colour all over the lid and then use a darker shadow in the crease above the lid. This allows for some dimension and if you remember to blend your colors, you will create a much smoother, seamless look. When you do this, try to make sure that you choose eyeshadow colors that really suit you! You want to choose colors that are opposite to your eye color on the color wheel. Blue eyes pop out with bronzes and coppers, and darker eye colors go well with the purple and taupe range.
- Remember Your Pencil. Gels, pencils and liquid liners are perfect for your eyes and you should never forget them! Brown eyeliner is the best option for lighter eyes and black does well for dark eyes. Remember the mascara, too, to curl the lash and offer thickened, beautiful lashes. Use an eyelash curler first, too, as you can ensure that you customize the look better.
- Highlight. Lastly, use a highlighter in the right places. Light, sparkly eyeshadow under the brow and in the tear duct makes the whole eye look glowy!
