Dreaming of Bahamas & other traveling facts

It is chilly Sunday evening here  and after a power shortage,  some adventures to have the power back on and two banana breads, I’m thinking about vacation.  In October I’m going to visit Italy again, Milan to be more exact, then I’m going for the first time ever in Copenhagen ( super excited ) and from Copenhagen I’m flying to see my friend in The Netherlands, so it will be a busy month for sure. Buuut, I’m thinking of a more exotic destination for next year, already booked New Years Eve and have a little business trip to USA in the spring, still I need more! The travel bug is here, very present and I think this is one of the things that remain with you forever.

One of the destinations I’ve dreamed about since I was a little girl, is the Bahamas. Pretty sure lots of people dream about the Bahamas, especially those based in Europe. I just have a feeling about that. I actually found a couple of amazing Bahamas rental properties to put on my wish list.

If you didn’t know, the Bahamas is located in the Atlantic Ocean and is made up of more than 700 islands, cays & islets with only 30 inhabited.  The largest is Andros but the most important where the capital Nassau is located, is New Providence. The name Bahamas comes from either the Spanish “baja mar” which means shallow water or sea or from the Taíno words “ba ha ma” which translates to “big upper middle land”.

The Tainos were the first people that inhabited the island, they were the indigenous people of the  Caribbean and Florida.

Speaking about rental properties, ff course I want to share them with you, so we can dream about Bahamas together. They are mainly luxury properties, I know, I’m aiming high. But again, if you travel with a group of friends, it’s perfect.

The first one, Colonial Paradise, sleeps eight persons and gives you the vibe of your own private island. Seriously, who doesn’t want their own private island. I know I do. With stunning water views, the dreamy contemporary villa is set on a gorgeous white sand beach that will make you joyful instantly.  As I said, it sleeps eight persons in four luxurious suites that you’ll want to move into.

If you’re looking for an oceanfront rental property, the Reefside in Winding Bay is for you and me, of course. A few steps from the Reefside and you have a breathing view of a turquoise bay in the Bahamas. I’m going to get my luggage out right now!  For a total relaxed vacation, the home features a beautiful terrace with alfresco dinning set, a barbeque and sun loungers.

Also in Winding Bay you’ll find the luxurious Paradise Found. I just love how that name sounds, Paradise found! Another oceanfront property, your own little piece of heaven. It is has charming cottage-style architecture and four suite-style bedrooms, so gather your friends and book that ticket.

The last but not least,  the luxurious townhouse Starfish Villa features beachfront setting with a fab ocean view and is part of the exclusive Palm Cay gated community. So say hello to oceanfront pools, cabanas, full service marina & kids playgrounds. It sleeps eight, perfect for families with kids.

After a little bit about the Bahamas and them dreamy luxury properties, I wanna tell you about a couple of interesting facts on how traveling affects your life.

Traveling decreases the cortisol level, which is the stress hormone,  in your blood, hence you’ll feel more relaxed asap.

Traveling reduces with about 32% the risk of heart attacks in men and they are 21% less likely to die earlier.

I also found out that women who don’t travel are twice more likely to suffer from depression in comparison to women who travel often. See, that’s why I’m thinking of booking that Bahamas vacation. Staying on the positivity note, women who take only one vacation every six years are 8 times more likely to suffer heart disease compared to the ones that take two vacation per year. So yeah, traveling is very good for your health ladies.

More than 50% of young people think that vacations bring families together and 63% of couples think that traveling together will help them stay together longer. Which is true as they are building memories together that strengthen their relationship.

Well, 89% of people feel less stressed after one or two days of traveling and 86% have a more positive outlook on life. How about that?

Like a said in the beginning of the article I caught the traveling bug really bad and my goal in this life is to travel to at least one new location every year and revisit as many as my favorite cities as I can. That’s why my Milan October trip will be the fifth time I visit this beautiful city. My goal for this year has been reached, I visited for the first time Portugal & Greece and will discover Denmark soon. Yes, I’ll enjoy Bahamas at some point in this life, I’m starting to visualise it.

Which are you travel goals? Do share them in the comments.
