Barbarella is a French comic book heroine, a movie starting Jane Fonda as the lead character and an awesome new luxury activewear brand from New York, hence, the NY:)
If you are a fitness junkie, you know how great working out clothes is part of the motivation, if you’re not and planning to be, trust me! Working out in a fab outfit is way better and more productive than in an old t-shirt and random sweatpants. At least, in my case it works a lot, I really do enjoy buying sportswear.
Karen Heish, the designer behind Barbarella NY, mixed her expertise and passion, design and fitness, and that’s how the brand came to life. Her own need for clothing that could withstand the rigors of fitness, but layer beautifully as daywear under jackets or tops, led her to design unique pieces with versatility as a priority. Crossfit, rock gyms, running, yoga studios, the shorelines, a cozy night inside… Whatever the activity, the line is perfect.
I’m especially loving the bratops, an equilibrium between racy and classy with a luxurious look given by the Lycra and mesh combo.
