Cool accessories for a hot summer

Every year fashion trends change and that doesn’t just mean the clothes you wear. Different types of accessories can make or break an outfit and never more so than in hot weather when you might be wearing less to impress but have as many, if not more, bits and pieces added.

So what are some of the most important additions that you should think carefully about in the summer?

Sunglasses
Probably the biggest influence of your look in the summer will be the kind of sunglasses that you choose. Summer eyewear has always been something of a focus for fashion as much as it is for functionality and today the word sunglasses doesn’t do justice to the range of styles you can buy.

From classics like Ray-Ban Wayfarers or drop lens aviators to spectacularly bling gem encrusted dinner plate sized creations, the range of shapes and sizes is wider than ever before.

Basically it comes down to what feels right as much as which ones suit the shape of your face. Whatever style you choose, you can usually pick up exactly what you want at the fraction of the price if you go for good quality replicas of the market leading brands. You can also look at trend guides for extra help.

Bags
Your bag can be even more essential in the summer when you might want to carry around a bit more than usual, be it sun tan lotion, a cold drink or beachwear. Of course, you don’t have to skimp on quality and resort to a supermarket plastic bag to fit everything in. Good quality leather handbags come in all shapes and sizes and the best bet could well be a tote bag, as it is fairly large.

‘Tote’ means “to carry” and the basic design is actually hundreds of years old. Of course, they don’t just come in leather and with a range of colours and materials there really is a tote for everybody.

Devices
Your phone is not only the thing that you carry around that basically has your whole life inside it; the way it looks also says a lot about you. A few years ago phones were really pretty much the same and often the smaller it was the better to slip into your bag and forget about it. With smartphones (and tablets) size matters and things are getting bigger.
