UNArte Gala 2011

After the UAD Gala I was really excited to see the UNArte Gala, unfortunately they can’t be compared, and that’s a pity..

I think that is of common sense if you organize an outdoor event, show or whatever, do it during the day if you don’t have proper lighting installations because at one point, we were in complete darkness. Also, don’t build/assemble the catwalk in front of people waiting for the show to start, one hour and a half late that is, and be sure that’s stable and the models don’t look like walking on a waterbed. I really don’t want to be mean, don’t know what was going on behind the scenes but it’s a hard hitting reality.

Being a part of the Perwoll jury again I stayed until the very end…

The collections, ohh well, let’s say most of them were beyond my limit of understanding, it showed that the students worked hard on them but that doesn’t mean they where pleasant to the eye, there will be lots of SF costume designers on the market.

The Perwoll award for young designers went to Manea Ramona and Benea Roxana, they sent down the rocky runaway two amazing collections. Ramona’s collection was simple but yet had intricate details and Roxana’s neon colors won me over.  Aww, and I really loved Ramona’s oversized clutches.

I also enjoyed Alexandra Abraham’s, Pitu Cristina’s, Sandra Chira’s and Patricia Stroe’s collections too, mostly the ones coordinated by Venera Arapu.

  • the winning collections look nice! it's a pity when an event looses ground because of organizational issues – last year there was a Cluj fashion week that was canceled while it was going on, lol. hope you had some fun though!

  • hehe, ce tare esti! imi place ca ai curaj sa scrii adevarul 🙂 daca nu merge treaba e bine sa se stie, doar asa poate fi mai bine!

    cat despre tinerele talente, cred ca oriunde avem toate nivele de pricepere, in orice domeniu si de asta nu e fiecare student la design apoi si cel mai tare creator…e f bine insa ca e asa, varietatea inspira si dezvolta, iar adevaratele vedete trebuie sa se lupte sa iasa in fata!..mai ajuta si relatiile si bugetul existent, da na, asa e cel mai des in viata, nu e o noutate!

  • cel putin in partea voastra de prezentare a-ti avut lumina…
    colectia pentru care am prezentat eu a intrat in prima parte unde am avut luminile alea slabe albastre:( si abia daca s-au vazut detaliile ,materialele:(…
    oricum felicitari tuturor studentilor care au prezentat aseara, s-a vazut pasiunea, sufletul care a fost investit in toate colectiile 🙂

  • I've attended a really bad fashion event as well once – there was a lot of waiting involved in between models.

    But from your pictures, the collections are not that bad 🙂
