With wedding season around the corner, you can guarantee there are a host of brides-to-be spending their time trawling through Pinterest finding ideas and inspiration to make their big day the most perfect event to remember.
It’s no surprise that with all the sources of inspiration out there – wedding planning can get a bit overwhelming – especially when it comes to finding a venue.
Then there’s the issue of budget. There is not a bride and groom out there who haven’t thought what they would do if money was no object.
The great news is that, whatever your budget or dream, hiring a marquee can provide the perfect solution to helping you create the wedding of your dreams – with the blank canvas of a marquee, the decoration options are endless!
Whether you’ve never considered hiring a marquee, haven’t a clue where to start when it comes to decoration, or you’re attempting to pull of the wedding of the year on a tight budget, a simple marquee is almost definitely the best option for you. Hire rates are incredibly reasonable and with a little imagination – you can make yours completely unique:
Probably the simplest, most cost effective yet stylish way of decorating your marquee is with adorable bunting. There is a huge choice of made-to-order suppliers out there but it’s relatively simple to make if you’re willing to put the time in. From simple chic to vibrant bohemia – the options are endless when it comes to bunting!
Lanterns, fairy lights and special lighting–
If you’re not so keen on the idea of bunting, or just want to create a truly magical atmosphere, lanterns or fairy lights are another really economic way of transforming your marquee. Just imagine dancing the night away under a twinkling ceiling of star like lights or enjoying the company of your friends and family in the warm glow of lanterns.
Or for something more dramatic, you can hire special lighting to create some cool moods and atmospheres that your guests and you won’t ever forget.
Foliage and floral displays –
Another fantastic way of adding colour and style to your marquee is with floral and foliage displays. Whether your taste is rustic country or you want to recreate an enchanting woodland setting – it can be done! Why not decorate the marquee posts with pretty meadow flowers or hang large branches from the roof with lights?

Furniture and layouts –
With a marquee you’re not restricted to using certain furniture. With a large space to play with you can create a Mad Hatter’s tea party, a Hollywood style event or a simple country picnic – we can’t promise this will solve the problem of where to sit your mother-in-law though!
Bonus #1: Glass marquees –
If you’ve got a slightly bigger budget, then you might want to consider a beautiful glass marquee. The great British weather is one of the hardest parts of wedding planning – you never know what it’s going to do! Glass marquees mean you can enjoy an outdoors wedding and beautiful views without having worrying about the weather. A slightly simpler option is to opt for a glass roof marquee – so you can boogie under the night sky without an umbrella in sight!
Bonus #2: Yurt or tipi marquees –
If you’re after something a little more unusual or unique then a yurt or tipi is exactly that! And whilst you might pay a little more for one of these – they have enough wow-factor to not have to worry about the decoration so much. These are the perfect option if you want to hold the once in a lifetime festival inspired wedding!
