How to: Festival fashion

Today, a little festival fashion style guide. Why? Because festival are just around the corner and tumblr, that’s why, and because I never went to a music festival but heard lots of tales about a couple of them. A bit jealous over here! At least three times a day festival fashion street style photos pop on my dashboard.
What I have learned so far about festival attires, by categories that is:
Clothes & shoes:
Think bohemian meets hipster, with a dash of grunge ( not mandatory but if you’re into it, go ahead). It’s the best time of the year to dress like flower child.
Your festival fashion wardrobe must include:

  • Denim shorts: boyfriend, vintage, hot pants, roll ups. For a full effect go for Do It Yourself featuring a pair of vintage Levi’s washed out jeans.
  • Floor length dresses, oversized lace frocks, crochet pieces ( go for loose knitted ones, trust me on this one), printed. Flower print dresses are quite popular, like I said, let your inner flower child bloom.
  • Ripped jeans, flower printed jeans, flower printed pants, you got the point.
  • In the top department you can wear almost everything and nothing in the same time, I’m talking about, band tank tops, fringe tops, printed tops, cropped tops, kimonos, tunics as well as bustiers & bikini tops. Take a parka or leather jacket with you, just to be sure.
  • For shoes I recommend to go with the comfortable options, sandals, ballets flats, all kind of flats or with low heel footwear, boots are most welcomed. Also, if the weather isn’t friendly, go for wellington boots, for pretty pairs check out the wide selection of wellies from Blacks.  Stiletto heels are out of the question for sure!
Accessories:
  • Cross body bags featuring: flowers prints again, knitted details, fringes, studs. Backpacks are great too. No clutches ladies, don’t want to lose your stuff.
  • You must have a pair of sunglasses, for the outfit and for your own good. Any kind.
  • Flower headbands are a must again, if no, go for feather accessories. Stacked rings, long necklaces featuring crystals & co, arm parties with friendship, weave &
Also, prints include: Aztec, geometric, flower, graphic, Navajo and you also can opt for dip dye! Ready to rule the mosh pit?
