V Magazine’s Footballers’ wives, boterinas or a growing trend

In the next number of V Magazine, which will hit stands on July 8th, you’ll find an editorial, more like a parody, dedicated to Argentinean footballers’ wives or boterinas how they are known as due to a TV novella. I’m not joking, because of the World Cup, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele styled this kitschy and yet, rather funny editorial, featuring models like Alessandra Ambrosio, Dree Hemingway, Eniko Mihalik, Jacques Maryna Linchuk & Constance Jablonski and all photographed by Sebastian Faena.

The not so funny part, is that they really exist, not only in Argentina but in Romania too, thus this is kinda of sad. Seeing this 12 page spread is like „reading” a big percent of romanian newspapers, though they don’t deserve the newspaper title.
Here are more than footballer’s wives and girlfriends, they are „musicians”, tv hosts, and designers girlfriends, ro is full with these shady characters. These girls are superficial, plastic, tanned and play dumm, and I’m talking about the ones in the public eye, however there are lots and lots of undiscovered „treasures” in clubs.

Think, Jersey Shore with a twist, but more tanned, more juiced up and more brainless crazy. Maybe they should make a reality show here too, they could call it Mamaia Shore and could air on …ehmm no names. Snooki and J’WOW are ladies…

And yes, they do dress like in the photos, only worse, much, much worse. Some even call themselves modell, and some do ad campaignes for local brands. We have a saying „gusturile nu se discuta”, which translates something like don’t comment the tastes, in this case and in others, you couldn’t not comment the fashion sense of some persons (guys too) when you can’t go out without hurting your eyes when you see them. And believe me, they are almost everywhere.

I know that my ro readers know more of this „trend”, but tell me, do you have it in your country too?
